About Graham Lee
Professional Overview
Graham Lee is an author, executive coach, supervisor and psychotherapist.
For more than 30 years he has worked with senior leaders, executive teams and boards across public and private sector organisations, helping them develop greater clarity, presence and effectiveness under pressure. His work has included extensive experience in financial services, technology, pharmaceuticals and professional services, as well as executive and board development with a number of NHS trusts and leading charities.
His work brings together executive coaching, team coaching, psychotherapy and organisational understanding to support deeper behavioural change in the moments that matter most.
Breakthrough Conversations has emerged from this integration of disciplines and experience, offering a practical developmental framework to working with emotional state, relational dynamics and behavioural effectiveness.
He is the author of Breakthrough Conversations for Coaches, Consultants and Leaders and other writing on leadership, coaching and authenticity.

What shapes Graham’s work
Graham’s approach has been shaped by several strands of experience.
Before becoming an executive coach, he worked in marketing and the pharmaceutical sector, and later in strategy consulting. Alongside this, he trained and practised as a psychotherapist and developed a longstanding interest in the role of awareness, attention and embodied presence in supporting change.
These different perspectives continue to inform his work. They help him bridge the practical realities of organisational life with a deeper understanding of emotional life, relational patterns and the conditions that support genuine change.
The result is an approach that is both psychologically informed and grounded in the demands of real leadership and coaching situations.
A personal note
Alongside his professional work, Graham has a longstanding interest in human development, reflective practice and the inner conditions that support meaningful change. This includes a continuing engagement with mindfulness, psychological development and the question of how people become more present, more aware and more able to act with integrity under pressure.
These interests continue to inform both his writing and his work with leaders, coaches and organisations.
Professional credentials
Graham is an APECS-accredited coach and coach supervisor, a UKCP-registered psychotherapist, and has also trained in mindfulness-based approaches with the Oxford Mindfulness Centre. He holds a first-class degree in Experimental Psychology.
